Eastern Chipmunk at Assabet River NWR – Massachusetts

Last week we visited New England. While Gabi was attending a scientific conference in Boston, I explored Massachusetts. One of the best places I found was the Assabet River National Wildlife Refuge (map). In this refuge I encountered a few Eastern chipmunks (Tamias striatus). Chipmunks are probably my favorite animals in North America. I photographed them a lot while living in Upstate New York and it was great to see them again. I decided to take a picture of this small rodent so I scouted a little in the woods to find one in a right place and I think I did. 🙂
